My First Game Changer

To follow up from yesterday, I present to you my very first game changer.  Tada!!!

So no, it is not perfect by any means but for my first take on this fly, I'm alright with it.  However, here's what I don't like: the back end.  I have four shanks between the B10S hook and small octopus hook in the back.  The front two shanks and the front hook all have complex twists of schlappen, medium chenille, and longer but thinner strands of UV polar chenille.  The back two shanks are tied in a wooly worm style with only chenille and hackle.  I don't like this part and I wish I would have used a complex twist on those parts as well.

The reason I went this route was because I didn't have the right chenille that yesterday's post/video contained.  I with with a complex twist out of necessity as well as creativity.  I felt like it was a good approach and thought that I had stumbled on a little piece of brilliance...until I saw this video.  It's basically the same thing.  A creative genius I apparently am not since it had already been done.  All that is left to do is see how it looks in the water and maybe make a few tweaks before I start catching whoppers on this monster.  That's how it works right?
