I'm not sure if this website's footprint reaches the boot heel or not, but here's an interesting program that the Missouri Department of Conservation is putting on in Cape Girardeau. Bass, bluegill, red ear, and catfish have been tagged and released at Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center. They are in a pond that is exclusively for youngsters and removed tags can be redeemed at the nature center for a variety of prizes. I'm all for things that get kids outdoors and gets them engaged in fishing and I applaud the MDC's attempt to make that happen. After all, the world needs fewer XBoxes and more tackle boxes.
