Fundraising Spaghetti Dinner & Chance to Win a Guided Fishing Trip

About a month ago, Wendy (my fiancé) told me about a fundraiser that her son's (Collin) basketball team was planning.  The team is trying to raise money to offset some of the expenses to attend a national tournament in Florida.  They are a good group of young men and I have thoroughly enjoyed watching these boys play.  The coach is an OUTSTANDING coach too.  He treats the boys with respect but pushes them at the same time.  Along with a dinner, the team also wanted to have a silent auction as well.  She asked if I could tie some flies for the auction but that seemed small.  I also didn't think that a dozen flies would bring in a bunch of money due to the fact that it was no guarantee that any attendees would be fly fishers.  So I decided to kick things up a notch as well as try my hand at something at the same time.

Anyone that knows me is aware that when I retire from teaching in 11 years, I want to become a fly fishing guide.  With that in mind and the need for a better raffle item, I have decided to auction off a half day of guided fly fishing.  I also decided to tailor the trip as well.  If someone is new to fly fishing and wants to learn to cast and catch a bunch of bluegill, I have a plan for that.  If someone wants to throw streamers for largemouth on private water, there is another plan for that.  And if someone wants a mix of the two and wants to try for a mixed bag of species, there is a plan for that as well.  I can also plan the trip around where someone lives and/or how far they want to drive.

So if you are interested in donating to a basketball team, attending a spaghetti dinner, or want a chance to win a guided fishing trip with yours truly, just email me at showmeflyguy@gmail.com.  All of the details are in the image above, but feel free to send questions my way as well.  If anyone is interested in simply purchasing a guided trip, please email me.  I'm starting to put some feelers out there to see if this is something that folks would be interested in.
