By following the directions in yesterday's post, I tried my hand at tying the Rabbit Strip Worm fly. I have to admit, it wasn't as easy as I thought it was going to be. Choosing the right strip length and tension between the eye and bend was a little tricky. Getting the strip tied in front of the dumbell eyes but without crowding the eye of the hook was also a little bit of a challenge. Overall though, I thought it turned out really well and I learned a lot as a result. I think I could probably turn out a dozen of these in half an hour if I wanted to with what I learned. Now, we move on to the testing phase which you will see tomorrow.
