I ran across a fly the other day that I am really excited to tie and fish. First though, I want to give credit to Ben Moloney AKA @grateful.flies on Instagram. He's a good follow and has some good looking patterns that he ties and sells. This pattern in particular has some pretty cool things going on. The tail is going to give it some outstanding action. The upturned foam in the front will push water and maybe even spit a little bit. It also looks to be an easy fly to tie which is nice as well. While Ben states that he ties these flies for tarpon, I'm thinking that a big, hungry bass might not be able to turn this thing down. I have caught bass on a traditional gurgler and I like this version even more!
