On a personal note, I think this is pretty amazing and something that makes me a proud Missouri native. The Missouri Department of Conservation worked to restore elk in Missouri starting back in 2011. The fact that we now have enough of a herd to offer a small season for is something that MDC should be applauded for. It has taken a lot of man hours and dedication from hard working folks that I have the utmost respect and appreciation for! Way to go MDC and all of the people dedicated to giving us Missourians amazing outdoor experiences!
