The Missouri Department of Conservation will be having two days of free across the state of Missouri. On June 12 and 13 of this year, you will be able to fish without a fishing permit, trout permit, or daily trout tag which is required at Missouri trout parks. I am including a link to information about rod and reel loaner program that MDC provides through libraries around the state as well. This would be a great time to introduce someone to fishing and wouldn't include any of the usual start-up costs like licenses and equipment. With free fishing days and loaner equipment, someone could dip their toe into our beloved sport without much of a commitment. You never know what exposing someone to a new experience could mean for them. Programs like this could create a new hobby or even passion that could last a lifetime.
