Free Fishing Excursion on the Missouri River

The Missouri Department of Conservation wants to take you on an all expenses paid, guided fishing trip on the Missouri River for catfish!  How amazing does that sound?  Boats, tackle, and even life jackets are provided.  There is an educational component on the afternoon of June 5 at Burr Oak Nature Center.  Then, later in the day, you will go out and set trotlines, jug lines, and limb lines for catfish.  You will return to the river on Sunday morning, June 6 to check your lines.  For more information, please click on the link below.  An experience like this could cost hundreds of dollars if you hired a guide but your tax dollars and MDC want to do it for you.  I'm going to double check my schedule and see if I am free that weekend because this sounds like a lot of fun.  I wonder if they would let me make a few casts with a fly rod while we are on the water?!?!
