I was able to fish Legacy Lake in Lee's Summit, Missouri, yesterday morning and it was a similar experience to Watkins Mill on Monday evening. It seems like the fish are lethargic and slow to bite as they are apt to do this time of year. On top of that, they might be hanging out in places that are out of the norm. I think the bass are a little deeper and the bluegill night be as well. This is normal behavior for this time of year in this part of Missouri so while it is expected, it is still a little bit of a bummer. I think early mornings and late evenings are probably the best times right now if you are wanting to catch fish. I see this pattern holding for the next few weeks but fall patterns are upon us and another change is on the way. Like with so many things in life, you take what is given to you, make the most of it, and know that something different is always on the horizon. On the bright side, I did manage to catch some big, green sunfish and what appears to be a hybrid bluegill.
