Svend Diesel is all over social media! If you're on Instagram or Facebook, you've probably seen his work. If you watch fly tying videos on YouTube, you've probably had him pop up on your suggested videos. However, don't think for a moment that he is just a social media darling because he is a heck of a fly tyer. One of his most recent videos is a very simple but really interesting clouser minnow variation. In particular I like how uses a marker for counter shading as well as the hackle that he uses. I also find the sparseness of the bucktail to be helpful and the flash is a nice touch. If you're spending some time on the vise this winter, maybe this is a pattern that you tie now and fish the spring!
