I finally got around to making a video of the one fly that has been more productive than any other fly in my boxes. The John Deere has caught rainbow trout, brown trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, redear sunfish, green sunfish, bluegill, common carp, grass carp, and channel catfish among a few other species. This fly imitates a small, nonthreatening minnow. Almost anything will eat a small, nonthreatening minnow. I have fished this fly on moving water, still water, cold water, and warm water. You can fish it under a strike indicator at various depths of the water column. You can fish this on a fly rod or a spinning rod. I hope this video helps you put a few more fish in your hand and helps you with your fly tying. Good luck and have a great weekend.
